In a year confined to the couch, Netflix took us on a wild ride.

As one of the pandemic’s few entertainment options, Netflix was both a source of sanity, but also endless scrolling. Audiences had spent so many hours in front of screens that there was a collective feeling that everything had been watched on the platform. Instead of avoiding that melancholy achievement, we convinced Netflix to make a literal song and dance about it.

A surreal sing-along, to celebrate the end of a strange year.

After receiving a prompt that he’s “finished Netflix”, a relatable fan is taken on an immersive metaphorical trip down memory lane; back through everything that he and the wider audience had watched and felt.

As this hero moves through his retrospective journey, the lyrics and bizarre visuals make fan-centric references to some of the year’s most iconic and talked about moments.

The film was directed by Nadia Lee Cohen and was accompanied by several tease and follow-up social stunts to drive audience conversation.

An ‘encore’ from the fans.

The film saw exceptionally high-praise across social feeds, and outperformed all its mega-title counterparts with one of the highest ever like-to-dislike ratios on youtube.

There were even dozens of requests to make the film a yearly tradition, with many saying that it easily beat Youtube’s annual multi-million dollar ‘Rewind’ content. (I’m diplomatically paraphrasing; people were really mean about Youtube Rewind)

The work was also recognized within the industry by One Show, D&AD, and others, including scoring a Cannes Lion, and cleaning up Clios Entertainment with multiple bronze, silver, and gold .
